Spirit Airlines baggage policy and fees in 2024?

Spirit Airlines baggage fees as of 2024: Carry-on bag: $45-70 depending on when you pay (cheaper online, more expensive at the airport or gate) First checked bag: $40-55 (again cheaper if you pay online in advance) Second checked bag: $55-65 Personal item: FREE (must fit under the seat, max 18x14x8 inches) Key tips to save money: 1. Pay for bags online when you book or at least before you get to the airport. Airport prices are always higher. 2. If you have the Spirit Saver$ Club membership ($69.95/year), you get discounted baggage fees which can pay for itself on one round trip. 3. A personal item is free and if you pack efficiently, you might not need a carry-on at all. 4. Weight limit for checked bags is 40 lbs, which is less than most airlines (usually 50 lbs). Overweight fees start at $65.
